The latest findings in Medicine show that on the ultramicroscopic levels our cells and mitochondria communicate through light signals. What the Yogis of ancient times experienced and described through their dedicated practices has now been translated into modern-day scientific language. All life on earth is a consequence of the energy of the sun. Plants, animals, humans and all other life forms on the planet use the energy of the sun to convert it into living entities. This happens by processing the incoming energy and by converting the sun´s energy into the materials that are the platform of life itself. Without the sun life on earth is not possible.
Yoga harmonizes the microcosm with the macrocosm.
Through the practice of certain Yoga, the practitioner improves and expands his body´s ability to absorb more energy in the form of light, oxygen and other sources. All the organic and neurological systems in the organism are energized and strengthened by the regular practice of Yogic exercises. Yoga causes an improvement of intercellular communication and that helps the whole organism to function in a more frictionless way. Metabolism becomes faster and the nutrients of foods and beverages can be assimilated much easier. At the same time, the strengthening of all tissues from the skin to all the fascial layers, bones, marrow, nerves, etc. makes the body much more resistant to all kinds of ailments and diseases. In general, Yoga harmonizes the microcosm (the human system) with the macrocosm (nature and the universe). This harmonizing process enables the Yogi to develop a deeper insight into the nature of reality beyond the logical mind as light and other sources of energy are also transmitters of information on a more subtle level than thoughts and the process of reasoning are. A practitioner of Yoga makes his body more perceptible to the energy of the sun and all other energy sources by improving the intercellular communication within the body. The organism then becomes a powerhouse that can absorb energy more easily and thus becomes more energized and less prone to decay and disease.
By saying that through the practice of Yoga we can become more intelligent we need to acknowledge that in our modern society much stress is laid on traditional forms of education. Logical thinking and processing information on an intellectual level is seen as the peak of intelligence. While this worldview is the standard for all educational factors, it is also true that there must be a much higher intelligence at work when it comes to the marvelous functions displayed in all living creatures on earth including plant, animal and human life. The peak of the evolutionary process on this planet is the human organism and its multi-faceted ability to adapt and evolve into higher possibilities. Human beings have an innate capacity to figure out the most complicated structures and take a look into the mystery of life beyond the struggle of survival. The innate intelligence of what makes life what it is is far beyond our logical comprehension. There is a vast pool of information that acts as a blueprint for all life forms on the planet. For example, if a cow eats a mango, that mango gets processed into cow form. If a human eats a mango, it gets transformed into the human form. Both forms, the cow form and the human form get the same kind of raw material. None of the two makes a conscious decision to form a certain body. Still, the mango is automatically transformed into either a cow or a human. How does the same raw material transform itself into different forms? It happens through the subtle intelligence that is engrained in the DNA structures of the different forms of species. The same mango gets transformed into a cow or a human when it is passing through the metabolic systems of either of the two. This means that there is a huge intelligence at work on the subtlest levels of life and it knows how to transform energy into all kinds of organisms that inhabit our planet. This capacity of life to renew and sustain itself is the true miracle of intelligence and no amount of conscious thinking will ever be capable of handling even a second of what is needed to run any life form. Just think of all the tasks that this intelligence is coordinating as you read these lines. Your heart is pumping and distributing the blood to every corner of your body. Your lungs are oxygenating the blood which carries the oxygen to all the organs. Your liver is detoxifying your blood, your brain is coordinating all neurological functions and send and receive messages from the nervous system while your metabolic system digests your last meal and distributes the nutrients throughout the body to exactly where they are needed.
There is an innate intelligence in our body that is far more sophisticated than the logical mind.
The list of automatic processes could be prolonged much further. If we were to coordinate all these functions with our logical mind, we would die within a few moments. Still, we think of our thought process as the non plus ultra of intelligence and we proud ourselves of our ability to remember facts and give clever talks. While I may be thinking of how to get a promotion at my job and plotting a way how to win my next tennis match against my hardest opponent, life is so much more than a playground for reaching our personal goals and fulfilling our (material) dreams. We are much more capable than we could ever imagine and the magic which is creating the whole universe of phenomena is right there within us, managing to grow incredibly sophisticated bodies out of energy in the form of food, water, oxygen, etc. The aim and purpose of Yoga are to tap into this immense pool of intelligence and to consciously make use of this endless reservoir of energy and information. Once the connection is made, it becomes stronger and stronger and the influx of the cosmic consciousness floods our bodies and minds. This is where the genius of human intelligence is born and evolves further into higher possibilities beyond what we see as the average man or woman. That vast field of consciousness is always there, waiting to be explored. Unfortunately, throughout history, we have not made much progress on the collective level as we fail to understand the mechanisms of the mind and the human psyche. Those who do understand the inner realm of the mind often use it to their personal advantage and try to exploit their fellow human beings for their personal benefit. The hunger for wealth, fame and power has undermined our progress again and again and although our technological inventions are enabling us to have more comfort than ever before, we still struggle with the same demons that we had to face ever since humans formed societies and hierarchical structures. The root cause for all the wrongdoing is ignorance. Ignorance of our true nature and fear of our innate possibility of divine expression and true individuality are taking their toll on all of us. Few dare to be really free and to be true to themselves and not follow the masses of people who still are part of the struggle for survival that is only maintained artificially by instilling fear and negativity into the minds of people. We are a globalized society of self-hypnotized people failing to make use of our advanced knowledge and the sheer endless opportunities we have created in all fields of life. Still, we only try to be a little better than our neighbour, our co-worker, the people we see on TV, or simply our best mate who has a little more money or a bigger car than we do. This struggle is on 24/7 and the treadmill we have created for ourselves seems to keep us too busy to step aside and take a deep breath.
It is our true duty in life to become strong and energetic and to evolve on the path of awareness.
So how do we make a change for the better? Simply by making a conscious choice – the choice to start practicing a way of living that makes us stronger and more aware of our true nature. When we make that conscious decision to start a regular practice of Yoga, to eat healthier and to stop poisoning ourselves with negativity and other intoxicants, we embark on the journey of improving our lives and making a change for the better. But as the Chinese proverb says “no amount of talking will cook the rice” we also need to take action. Implementing a more conscious lifestyle has to become a daily thing and we have to endure the first six weeks if we really want to establish the practices into our life. We can start slowly and in small installments. For example, we can do a daily sun salutation in the morning for 5 minutes and as we progress we can increase this practice to a ten or fifteen-minute time frame. We can start to meditate for ten minutes daily and also increase the length as we progress. So a total of fifteen minutes per day can be a solid ground to start from. The important thing, in the beginning, is to not miss our set practice. If we can sustain this program for six weeks, it will become second nature to us just like brushing our teeth and we incorporate these new regimens into our lifestyle. In the end, it is about us. The only person who can stop me from becoming what I am truly meant to be is myself. I can either find a hundred different excuses why I am miserable, why my life is a mess and why I can´t accomplish my dreams or I can set myself into a direction where I become so strong that life becomes a mere play and I can easily accomplish what I am aiming at. That is our true duty, to become strong and energetic and to evolve further on the path of awareness. The means to become a full-fledged life, thriving and exploring the depths of consciousness is Yoga and Meditation. Take the first step now and change your future for the better. It is our choice as this life is our making and it is time to take that responsibility into our hands and make create something truly remarkable out of it.
