What you can expect from Dr. Prakash
Dr. Prakash has dedicated his life to the service of his patients and the science of Ayurveda. He follows the highest ethical standards of medicine and he always focuses on the task at hand without rushing his time. If you choose to work with him, you can be sure to receive outstanding services and a precise and holistic diagnosis of your health status. This detailed diagnostic is the basis for a successful treatment plan that suits the individual’s needs. Based on this diagnosis you can check whether prescribed items and supplements are available in your area and use them or you can arrange a trip to Kerala and undergo treatment at Dr. Prakash´s clinic in Karunagapally and get the Ayurvedic items directly from his pharmacy which is also a part of the facilities of his clinic. All items administered are produced by Dr. Prakash and his dedicated team at the clinic in Karunagapally using 100% natural ingredients that are grown and harvested in Southern India. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual´s needs and you get plenty of time to discuss questions and your progress with Dr. Prakash himself during your stay.
An Ayurvedic diagnosis is not only limited to the obvious problem or symptom at hand but takes the whole organism into consideration. So what you get when you ask for a diagnosis might be more than you expect. The client gets a full body-mind diagnosis that gives insight into all relevant health problems that can be detected by Dr. Prakash. This also includes problems that might not be acute at the moment but could become an issue in the future. For example you want to know about your migraine headaches and you get to know that your digestive system is acidic, your cervical vertebra has problems at C3 and C5 and that your hormone system is not fully balanced. This is due to the fact that from the Ayurvedic point of view we need to consider the whole organism and its status to tackle any issue that is making problems. In most cases, a symptom is caused by a bundle of underlying factors that constitute the disease.
Attached to the diagnosis is a personal dietary plan highlighting which foods you should avoid to improve your health and food items that are suitable for your doshic type. Furthermore, you get advice on which Ayurvedic remedies can be used and what kind of exercises are useful for you. Generally, Meditation and Yoga are prescribed for most patients to take care of their personal issues. Additionally, you can ask Dr. Prakash personal questions concerning all kinds of matters eg. career choices, financial issues and other topics that are important for you.
In his 35 years of practising Ayurvedic Medicine Dr. Prakash has treated thousands of patients from many countries and all walks of life. He has restored the health of clients in a holistic way and has given people the opportunity to get a deeper insight into their personal issues and live more consciously. Ayurveda is not a simple quick fix for medical problems but a way of living a strong and healthy life, choosing the things that contribute to your life in a positive way. If you are looking for this kind of strength and awareness, Dr. Prakash is the best choice available.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can Ayurveda help me?
Ayurveda is the sience of life and can provide any individual with deep insights on a suitable lifestyle and a way of living that ensures wellbeing, health and success on all levels. The pivotal point is to find an expert in this field, who can provide you with the correct information about your tri-dosha constitution and your present state of health. Based on a full understanding of your individual needs, you can be provided with the necessary information how to conduct life in a way that ensures the optimal outcome for you. If you are already suffering from a (chronic) disease, Ayurveda has a vast repertoire of remedies and treatment options, that can possibly cure your ailments and restore your health and vitality.
How can I apply Ayurveda in my daily life?
Based on the correct knowledge of your body and mind constitution you can easily adapt your day to day lifestyle to incorporate Ayurvedic recommendations easily. There are also general tipps and solutions that can be implemented irrespective of the individual´s constitution. For example it is recommended to drink luke warm water that was gently boiled in the morning and throughout the day instead of cold drinks. Eating more rice, vegetables and fruits is also a common recommendation that benefits everyone. If you want to know more specific ideas of incorporating Ayurveda in your daily routine, check out our website and our blog.
How is my diet affecting my health?
The food we consume builds our bodies. It is not just the fuel that runs the engine, as we often hear nowadays. It also builds the organism itself and therefore it is the basis of our health and wellbeing. By knowing our doshic constitution we can choose the right food items and pacify our doshas to harmonize our body´s energies for optimal health. If we follow a healthy and suitable diet, we can avoid up to 80% of common diseases and maintain vitality and youthfullness much longer. However by consuming processed foods, containing chemicals or by simply overeating too often, we invite ill health in the long run as we disturb the natural balance of our body and mind. If you want to know more about food and diet, check out our Ayurvedic diet column or directly contact us for more information on the topic.
Is Ayurveda against Western Medicine?
Ayurveda is absolutely not against Western Medicine. It is a complete health science in itself that covers all the branches that are known in Allopathic Medicine. The biggest difference lies in the underlying principles of Ayurveda which sees the human organism as part of nature and the cosmos and does not treat symptoms but the human being as a whole. Anyways the discoveries and contributions of Western Medicine are not neglected but very much welcomed by a true Ayurveda physician. Especially the ability to provide help in emergencies such as severe accidents and live threatening situations is a field where Allopathic Medicine can provide optimal solutions and save the life of the patient. Ayurvedic Doctors and Therapists are very much open to cooperate with Allopathic Medicine to incorporate the best of both medical sciences for the benefit of everybody involved. When a patient has side effects from certain Allopathic pharmaceuticals heor she is taking, Ayurvedic remedies can reduce these side effects. Carefully chosen Ayruvedic medicines and supplements will not counteract Allopathic prescriptions. Therefor Ayurveda and Western Medicine are not antagonistic in nature and can easily be combined.
What items are used ot produce remedies in Ayurveda?
All oils, supplements, remedies and medicines are based on natural ressources like plants, minerals, roots, barks and other organic materials provided by nature. However there are hundreds of thousands of different recipes and applications of Ayurvedic Medicines and items used for the treatments. The preparation of these items combines different ingredients and often require a kind of alchemical process that often involves heating, storing or grinding the ingredients to compose the remedies. No chemicals are used in Ayurveda.
Which qualifications are required to become an Ayurvedic doctor?
To become an Ayurvedic doctor you need to go to University and study the subject. The first step is an entry exam that decides whether you can start to study the Medicial science of Ayurveda or not. Then you need to undergo all the courses, seminars and lectures that a Physican has to master. During the first 3 years Allopathic and Ayurvedic curriculums are the same, students of Ayurveda need to undergo further studies during these years and later specialize in Ayurvedic medicine. After 5 years the title of B.A.M.S. can be earned (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery). After that at least 3 more years of study and practice are required to earn the title MD AY (Medical Doctor of Ayurveda). During the 8 year span of studies at the University internships and pracitcal studies including pharmacology are also mandatory for the students. Additionally it is recommended to also study and engage in Yoga and Meditation to develop deeper insights into the Mind and Body of a human being and further refine the skills of diagnosing a patient and applying the science of Ayurveda correctly. However a truly dedicated Physician of Ayurveda continues to study the phenomenon of the human organism and develops his own recipes and remedies according to the patients needs.
