Aura is a field of subtle luminous emanations that surrounds a person or an object. The human Aura is the energy field that surrounds the body it is three diamensional and has an elliptical shape. The Aura is intimately connected with our body, mind and soul. It is a vehicle through which we create our experience of reality including health and illness. These energy fields can be easily detected and experienced. Everyone has his or her own unique energy system, and the way it interacts and works with the more subtle surroundings and the influences it gets from the outside vary from individual to individual. Physical, emotional and mental states and changes are displayed in the Aura and can thus be detected by the experienced professional who is able to read and diagnose it properly.
The conscious mind is usually only aware of that upon which it is focused, in most cases it is mainly focused on the experiences perceived through the five senses. The subconscious mind on the other hand is aware of all energy interactions with your own field, even beyond the five senses on the level of mind, budhi (intellect) and atma (soul). These interactions are assimilated and can be assessed and brought forth into conscious awareness through Radiesthesia method and Kirlianography. Today the photograph of an Auric field can be captured analyzed to receive informations on present and future body and mind diseases. GDV (gas-discharge-visualization) can be used to display the auric field emanations and with this method the body-mind of an individual can be assessed in minute detail.
Aura, it’s changes, applications, variations, effects, colours, complexion and it´s relation with Pancha Bhoothas (the five basic elements or building blocks of life) are well explained in Ayurvedic classical texts, especially in Charakra Samhitha.
In Ayurveda Aura is called Prabha, Varnas are the different colours of the Aura and Chaya is the total appearance or complexion. In Ayurveda different body constitutions are described and each of the three doshas (Vatha, Pitha and Kapha) has its own colours. When the Aura combines in certain proportion with a predominant dosha, the colour of the Aura is perceived according to the doshic predominance. The three doshas also have a close connection with the Pancha boothas. When we try to find the mental constitution of each individual based on the three gunas (Satva, Rajas and Tamas) we also have to consider the relationship between those three gunas and the Pancha boothas. Each individual´s mental constitution is a combination of the three gunas. Normally one guna will be prominent . As we can see, colours and life are inseparable.
It is described in the Charaka Samhitha, in Indirasthana; in the seventh chapter named “Panna Roopeeyam Indriyam”, that when a prominent change occurs in the shape, quantity, complexion or colour of the Aura that the disease of a person can become serious and there will even be a possibility of an early death. On the other hand slight changes show different diseases in different areas of the body.
The chaya (complexion) is classified in Charaka Samhitha in relation with the Pancha boothas. A predominant chaya has it´s own appearance, colour and shape and it depends on the individual´s body and mind constitution. These chayas (complexions) are called Akaseeya, Vayaveeya, Agneya, Jaleeya and Bhaumeeya.
In Ayurveda the Prabha (Aura) is classified into seven types based on the colours. The type and frequency of emanation and the quality and complexion of the Auric field is also important in connection with physical and mental wellbeing. Acharya Charaka confirmed that there is no individual in the world without Prabha (Aura) and Chaya (complexion) and he further elaborates that the health status, possible disease and the life span can be detected in the auric field. If there are special signs connected with chaya and prabha, the positive and negative aspects of that person about different matters can also be revealed. The topics of these matters can include possible careers, relationship topics and suitable choices in business and domestic life.
From the above explanations we can understand that the importance of Aura (prabha) has already been explained in minute detail in Ayurvedic texts thousands of years back. Ayurveda explains that the study of the Aura colour and complexion can reveal your health problems, your life span, the health status and other important topics of a person.
